Submitting Your Artwork to Century Container
Digital Artwork
For best results, artwork should be submitted in digital format as follows:
- Adobe Illustrator CS4 (Macintosh format) PDF, Illustrator (.AI) or Illustrator .EPS file
- Photoshop images used in the artwork should be in JPEG or TIFF format in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and at the full size that they will appear on the pail.
Non-Digital Artwork
If you do not have artwork in digital format, please send the largest and clearest printed copy possible. Sample pails are acceptable if a paper copy of the artwork is not available. Please understand that we will need to convert non-digital artwork into a digital format in order to print your pails, and this may result in additional billable artwork time.
Print Colors
For offset printing, we print a maximum of four ink colors, in addition to the color of the pail itself. On a white pail, for example, white areas in the artwork are not printed in white ink, but are voids where the white pail shows through. We can match any ink or pail color according to the Pantone® Matching System.
Child Warning Label
Certain sizes of plastic pails pose a safety hazard to very young children, especially if the pails contain liquid. According to the guidelines established by ASTM International, a Child Warning Label should be printed on any open-head plastic container from four gallon to six gallon capacity. We always include a Child Warning Label on our Short Five Gallon, Standard Five Gallon, 20 Liter and 6 Gallon pails.
The label measures 7 1/4 inches by 3 inches and can be positioned under either handle hole. It can be hot stamped (in gold or black) or printed. Black is the most common print color, but other colors may be used as long as sufficient contrast with the pail color is maintained.
Font Matching
We have an extensive font library with hundreds of fonts available for use. If we do not have the particular one that you need, we can make arrangements to purchase it for use in your artwork. If your artwork is in Illustrator format and you're sure that your text will not require any revisions, you can send the text in outlined format to avoid font matching issues.
